Vanilla grows and thrives in certain climatic conditions and though it has been tried and tested at the coast regions of Kenya, there is limited supply all throughout the year hence we source from African countries while maintaining quality.

From growing and acquiring the raw materials, to processing, packaging e.t.c we ensure that we only use materials/practices that are Sustainable and Eco-friendly. We work with small-scale farmers who are well compensated for their time, labour and produce.

We extract by maceration method using organic solvents which is Eco-friendly (Low carbon manufacturing). This method ensures that the Vanilla flavour matures and intensifies with time in its purest form.

We recommend the extract for rich and savoury desserts/drinks I.e Chocolate, Coffee, Peanut butter e.t.c or as a flavour enhancer to give other flavours a ‘kick’! When using in dishes that need to be heated to high temperatures, use at the very last step to avoid loosing flavour. Make sure you store your extracts properly to avoid deterioration and evaporation as they are very sensitive to extreme temperatures, light and air.

For baking, flavouring milk desserts, and any dish/drink that are sweet we recommend use of the paste or pods.

Vanilla Beans are hard to cultivate. It is very labour intensive, the crops are hand pollinated which is done only once a year for a few hours of the day, and only grows in certain climatic conditions yet it is a highly sought after and common flavour/ingredient in the food and cosmetics industry. We acquire the vanilla ethically ensuring the farmers are well compensated for their hard labour and maintain quality. All these factors contribute to pricing of our products. Be assured that we are giving you value for your money.

The extract is made using ethanol, an organic alcohol based solvent which naturally preserves the product. The Bean Paste is made using a simple sugar syrup. The sugar naturally preserves the paste. Sugar is a well known traditional method of preserving food.
